Our Policy
Please review our studio policies carefully to help us maintain a
positive, safe, and professional environment for all dancers and families.
By registering with OnPointe Dance Studio of Florida, dancers and parents acknowledge and agree to follow
all studio policies and expectations.
Tuition & Payments
• Tuition is due on the same date each month.
• Late payments may result in late fees.
• Tuition is non-refundable.
• Auto-pay may be required for enrollment.
Dress Code
• Dancers are expected to arrive in proper dance attire and correct shoes for their class.
• Hair must be pulled back neatly away from the face.
• Jewelry should not be worn to class for safety reasons.
• Required dance shoes may be purchased through the studio or through a recommended studio link.
Attendance
• Consistent attendance is important for dancer growth and class progression.
• If a dancer will be absent, please notify the studio.
• Make-up classes may be offered based on availability.
• Competition team dancers may have required rehearsals, practices, or additional classes leading up to competitions and performances.
• Required rehearsals and practices may not be missed unless the studio is notified in advance.
• Excessive absences or inconsistent attendance may result in a dancer being removed from a routine, performance, or competition dance.
Studio Policies & Safety
• The studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
• Cell phones should remain on silent during class time.
• Video recording or photographing classes may not be permitted without studio approval.
• Students should not distract, interrupt, or correct fellow dancers during class.
• Water is permitted in studio rooms in sealed containers only.
• Dancers arriving excessively late may be asked to observe class for safety reasons.
• Proper warm-up is important to help prevent injury.
• The studio reserves the right to change instructors, schedules, class times, or studio policies when necessary.
• Tuition is not prorated for missed classes.
• Choreography, music edits, and class material remain property of the studio and/or choreographer.
Studio Etiquette & Expectations
• Dancers should arrive 10–15 minutes early to class to allow time to prepare and warm up.
• Street shoes are not permitted in studio rooms in order to help protect the dance floors.
• Food, gum, and colored drinks are not allowed inside studio rooms.
• Water bottles with secure lids are encouraged.
• Students are expected to clean up after themselves and help maintain a clean studio environment.
Parent Observation
• Parents and siblings should remain in designated waiting areas unless otherwise permitted.
• To minimize distractions and maintain classroom focus, parents may not enter studio rooms during class unless approved by staff.
• Observation weeks or special viewing days may be scheduled throughout the season.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
• Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring dancers are picked up promptly after class.
• For safety reasons, dancers should remain inside the studio until picked up.
Communication & Concerns
• Any questions, concerns, or conflicts should be directed to studio administration or the front desk staff.
• Concerns should not be discussed during class time or in front of students.
• To maintain a positive and professional environment, we ask that parents and dancers allow a 24-hour cool-off period before addressing emotionally charged situations related to class placement, casting, corrections, competitions, or performances.
Competition Team Policies
• Competition team dancers and parents may be required to sign a competition team contract for the season.
• Competition team members are expected to remain committed to the team for the full competition season and may not leave mid-season.
• Competition team dancers may not compete with another studio or participate as an independent competitor while representing OnPointe Dance Studio.
• Dancers may be offered additional performance opportunities, conventions, optional events, workshops, and competitions throughout the season.
• Additional rehearsals and practices may be scheduled leading up to performances and competitions.
Pointe Evaluations
• Pointe placement is based on strength, technique, alignment, and overall readiness.
• Dancers must complete a pointe evaluation before beginning pointe work.
• Previous ballet training is required.
Open Gym & Safety
• During Open Gym for Littles, only bare feet or grip socks are permitted to help protect the studio floors and mats.
• Grip socks will be available for purchase at the studio.
• Safety rules must be followed at all times.
Birthday Parties & Rentals
• Birthday party packages and studio rentals must be booked in advance.
• Outside food, decorations, and entertainment may be permitted depending on the rental agreement.
• Contact the studio for availability, pricing, and package information.
Injuries & Liability
• Participation in dance, acro, tumbling, and related activities involves physical activity and inherent risk.
• Families assume responsibility for participation and agree to notify the studio of any injuries, medical conditions, or limitations.
• Waivers and liability forms may be required for participation in Acro, Tumbling, Open Gym, or specialty classes.
Social Media & Conduct
• Negative, harmful, or inappropriate comments regarding the studio, staff, dancers, or studio families on social media may result in dismissal from the studio.
• Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Withdrawals & Fees
• Written notice is required before withdrawing from classes or competition programs.
• Competition fees, costume fees, convention fees, and related payments must be paid by studio deadlines.
• Private lesson cancellations may require advance notice or may still be subject to payment.
Weather & Closures
• In the event of severe weather or unexpected closures, updates will be communicated through the studio’s official communication platforms.
Media Release
• Photos and videos may occasionally be taken during classes, performances, rehearsals, camps, or studio events for promotional and social media purposes.
• If a family prefers their dancer not be photographed, please notify the studio in writing.
Policy Changes
• OnPointe Dance Studio reserves the right to update or modify studio policies at any time.
